Did Mattel ever produce a Barbie magician doll or magic trick kit?
No Mattel never produced a magician Barbie doll or a magic kit featuring Barbie. They have a magician dress up game on their web site at: http://www.gamesbarbie.net/games/8667/Magician-Dressup.html
They also made a series of "magic water" coloring and activity books featuring Barbie in which you used water to "paint" in various books and the colors appeared.

The convention doll, in 1994, was a magician. That convention was called The Magic of Birmingham, and was in Birmingham AL. you might find a doll on ebay, if you just keep searching. there would have been less than 1000 of these ever produced.

The only doll I know of is the "Secret Spells" Barbie doll (2003) (The Kayla Barbie doll is prettier)
She’s supposed to be a teen pagan.
