  Lot’s of instructions, but only 3 steps.

  1. Fan the cards out and let your spectator choose one. Make sure they don’t let you see it. Ask them to commit it to memory.

  2. Gripping the face down deck with your right hand from an overhead grip, use your left hand to start riffling through the cards at one corner, from the top to the bottom. Ask them to tell you when to stop. When they do, split the deck in half a that spot. As you lift the top portion of the cards away with your right hand, carefully tilt this pack of cards to see the bottom card, and memorize it. Tell them to place their card face down where they told you to stop. Replace the top portion of the cards onto the deck. Now their "secret" card is directly underneath the card you have just memorized. Now cut the deck a few more times in other places until they are satisfied that their card is well lost in the deck.

  3. Simply spread the cards face up in front of you from the left to the right, and find your memorized card. Their secret card will always be the card directly to the right of it. Once you get this down, and practice so they can’t tell you’re looking to memorize that one card, you can make up any way you want to reveal the card to them. Pretend like you’re reading their mind. Wave your hand over the face up cards and say you are "reading the energy" that they left on their secrect card. You can make anything up.
