I have been trying to do card tricks for my friends, but they figured out the double lift thing. What are some tricks that don’t involve the double or triple life?
Walter Gibson and Henry Hay both have some great books out with card tricks. Another is "Scarne’s Book on Cards" which has over 100 tricks that require no sleight of hand. Some of these would be a good mix to add to what you already know and then the double lift wouldn’t be caught. You need to mix the effects as well as the way to acheive them so you can’t be figured out Good Luck

lol. did you use double lift by itself only? double lift is a sleight, so it together with other sleight.
you may need to learn other sleights that are not so easy.
first is the classic pass, the act of secretly cutting the deck under cover of your hands. You can learn this from youtube. Search for classic pass tutorial
Then, there’s snap change. hold 2 cards horizontally, first two fingers infront, near the bottom edge, 3rd finger behind the card, just above the edge, and your last finger should be able to be seen from the front. If the card covers your 4th finger as well, you’re holding it too high. That’s one tip you should keep in mind. The sleight is just pull the front card with your 2nd and 3rd finger. Again, youtube have tutorial for snap change.
heres what i like to do. ask your audience select a card and put it in the middle. Do the classic pass to control the card to the top of the deck. Double lift and tell them "with the card lost in the deck, lets take the top card." Of course its 2 cards, their selected card is behind.
Do a snap change and the card wil change to their selected card.
Even if they know double lift, they shouldn’t be able to figure this out.
