My mom bought her own straight perm kit, but I don’t think she’ll do it right. I’m scared that she might end up screwing my hair up.

Getting a perm is not good for your hair it damages it very bad. I think that you should just ask the hair people at the haircut place, if its a good idea to get a perm.
