Magic Tricks Made Easy
Magic kits for a 7 year old?
My son has a birthday coming up soon. During the week there have been professional magician shows on TV that have him really amazed. Has anyone bought a magic kit for their kids at this age and did they like it? I have seen some at the stores but never really looked at them because I though it might be frustrating for my son. Any other recommendations welcomed. He has plenty of Lego’s, knex and action figures.

I think the magic kit is a good idea

I believe Toys R Us or FAO Schwartz have some magic kits for his age. Also, check if you have a magic store in your neighborhood, they can recommend something for his age. A cape and a hat is not bad too — he might get a kick out of that. Good luck

Go to a local toystore or Toys R Us. Easy to learn, easy to use. Or try some simple things. Like Ooblech (cornstrach w/ water that is both a liquid and solid) Or some cool little science experiments that you can get off the internet and crate some cool effects.

I would think a kid that age does not have the hand dexterity or presence to carry off tricks. There are kits with miniatures of common tricks which handle fairly clumsily and don’t really embody the methods of tricks as done by magicians. You know 7 year olds better than I do, what is going to happen when the tricks don’t work well or like seen on TV?
