As one of the most extreme, over the top vacation destinations in the country and possibly the whole world, Las Vegas has every kind of entertainment option visitors could possibly imagine. Sitting in the southern portion of Nevada within the dry Mojave Desert, most visitors come for the excessive amount of casinos that line the Strip and the Fremont Street Experience in the downtown area. While gambling may be the biggest attraction, there is much more to see and do in Las Vegas than you probably every imagined, but you will need to leave the ringing bells and flashing lights behind.
To get the most obvious attraction out of the way first, the casinos on the Strip are the flashiest, most excessive option available in the city. Not only do they offer gambling, most provide forms of entertainment through nightly shows or outdoor extravaganzas that are meant to lure tourists towards their slot machines and poker tables. The Bellagio shoots off a magnificent outdoor fountain display at least once an hour and offers a fine art gallery and spectacular flower garden within, while the Mirage attracts visitors with its white tiger enclosure and dolphin habitat that can be viewed for a small fee.
The night shows of Las Vegas are well-regarded and world-renowned for being spectacular and somewhat pricey. Possibly the most popular or well known, Cirque de Soleil takes off at a few of the hotels/casinos with each show offering a different visual experience. “O,” at the Bellagio, is an aquatic show that pays tribute to the magic of theater while “KÁ,” at the MGM Grand, combines acrobatics, martial arts, pyrotechnics, and puppetry to illuminate the nature of duality. Other popular shows include “Mamma Mia!” at Mandalay Bay, the Blue Man Group at the Venetian, and the Tournament of Kings at Excalibur.
The buffets in Las Vegas are legendary for having amazing food for a fairly reasonable price. Eat everything in sight at some of the best buffets around at the Bellagio, Paris, Aladdin, and Rio, but try to avoid dinner if you want to save some money for the craps table. While dinner can cost around 30 dollars per person, lunch is typically just as appetizing and costs about half the price.
Off of the Strip in downtown Las Vegas, visitors will find the Fremont Street Experience, a pedestrian mall that extends five blocks on the westernmost side of Fremont Street. The most distinctive features of this area are the massive canopy that covers four blocks and the Light and Sound show that occurs every night at dusk. The Light and Sound show puts out synchronized music, animations, live video feeds, and special effects to create a must-see visual extravaganza on the high-tech overhead canopy. Surrounding the canopy, visitors will find ten casinos, sixty restaurants, numerous bars and lounges, and thousands of slot machines should the urge for a quick game of chance ever strike.
After sitting in a casino for hours or taking in shows each night, you will need to get outside to rejuvenate yourself for more Las Vegas fun and excitement. The golf lovers in your group will want to head out to Bear’s Best Golf Course, located about 20 minutes off the Strip. This Jack Nicklaus designed course brings together eighteen of his best hole designs on one course, meaning golfers of any skill level are in for not only a challenge but a feast for the eyes with the lush greens and shimmering blues set against the desert backdrop.
If you can manage to spare a day out of your schedule for a day of outdoor adventure, venture to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area for an abundance of year-round activities. The huge lakes that sit within this massive park make it easy to participate in numerous outdoor pursuits such as swimming, fishing, boating, or simply soaking up some sun. In addition, the desert is the perfect place for hikers and photographers to catch sight of gorgeous desert plants and animals, which have adapted to the extreme climate of this area.
While most people believe the hotels on the Strip are the most convenient option, consider Las Vegas vacation rentals for your lodging needs. You can revel in the amenities and privacy of home while truly enjoying the beautiful desert surroundings away from the glitz and glamour of the towering casinos. There are homes and condos available near the Strip for easy access to the gambling and shows, while there are homes off the beaten path for those looking for a more well-rounded Las Vegas experience. Whatever kind of Las Vegas trip you have imagined, you can realize it beyond your wildest dreams in a vacation home or condo rental.

i dont know, it just depends on how much you have. like you can still find fun things to do, but alot of things in vegas can be expensive. so it pretty much depends on how much you have to spend

I am afraid nothing legal unless you try dancing at a club. Even then you have to get health card, sheriff’s card and those take time and money. What hotel are you booked at? Do they have a Resort Fee that you have to pay when you arrive? Do you have the deposit needed for your stay? You may not be able to come after all. You can see if your hotel is listed as charging the Resort fee.
You could possibly get by on $30 a day for food if you eat at the fast food restaurants. But as I said there are so many other expenses you have to figure in like how to get from the airport to the hotel.

This is sad.. I am sorry to hear that you lost your job! Why would you want to go on vacation if you are going to have to look for work?
Weather its eating or going out! You could hang by the pool… but if this is a vacation to Vegas you want to be able to go all out and will need to have money! So I would recommend re-scheduling.
Is there any way you can cancel your trip and get your moneys back? Maybe it would be best to save your money and re-schedule your vaca at a later date when its better for you!
Unfortanetly- unless you were to stay in your hotel all weekend- everything costs in Vegas and a lot!
Sorry…Good luck!

Have you already booked your hotel? You definitely want to take advantage of all the summer deals out there.. You can find a lot of inexpensive rates at the moment. A lot of the entertainment options, like pool parties and shows, also have discounts for girls. I think you should be fine for a 10 day vacation.

Gamble just $3 dollars on the MegaBucks Machine and hope to win the next millionaire dollar amount.
BTW payday is by the week for being a temp or a call center employee. Most people recieve paychecks every two weeks.
Need TANF/Booze/Sherrif card to work in the casinos and serve drinks.
Costly! Time consuming. By time thats finish you are heading home.
Hang by the pool! Watch cable tv in your room. Eat at cheap hotdog kiosks. Usually .99 for the hotdog. Play Minium Bets Bingo or KENO!

You should first go to all the FREE events that vegas offers. Trust me, vegas has tons of FREE shows @ many of the hotels. Try to Google."Free things to do in Vegas". Print this info. out.
Next, you need to print out "Cheap Eats" in vegas, some of the buffets can be a little expensive. If you gamble. Keep it to a min. DON’T over do it. Vegas also offers lots of eating places for little of nothing…. especially FremontStreet. If your room has a fridge, take advantage of it. Your night doesn’t always have to be elegant eating.
Last, if you drink well,,, this is easy, get to a penny machine put about five to ten dollars….Mirage has the best drinks. As long as you look like your playin’ …you’re all good. Enjoy the pool and sun. Good Luck!!!

You won’t find an opportunity to make money while in Vegas on your vacation. Jobs are scarce.
Not being a buzzkill that’s just how it is.
If you are coming by car I can suggest that you find out about the Hotels policy on using the mini fridge to store food. I do this all the time when I travel but I never take anything or use anything from the mini fridge. Vegas is different some places bill you just for opening it.
And do not use the phones. Again you can get hit with some really high charges just for making a local call.
Eating off the strip is actually not that expensive. You just pick normal places like most people have in their home town. If you can use the mini fridge you can hit a super market and stock up on a few things like yogurt, apples, or whatever you like.
And maybe you can talk a friend into coming along to share expenses.
Worst case scenario you could always contact the company you booked your vacation through and see if they will cancel without fees when you explain your situation.
If they won’t you can call your credit card company and see what they can do for you.
Even if you have to eat a small fee it may be better to do that than come and be miserable and worried.

Ooo I know what you mean, when it rains it pours! My advice is to get a Vegas Perks Pass. This website sells them for $99, & they let you do EVERYTHING 2 for 1. Good shows (not the cheesy free ones), good restaurants like Benihana, Tony Romas, buffets, etc – even hot air balloon rides. The pass pays for itself before 1 day is through. They have match play blackjack too where you can win double your bets! Here’s a link to the site where I got mine, good luck!
